First-time Homebuyer Workshops & Counseling
Homeownership training workshops are presented by experienced housing counselors of Housing Foundation of America, Inc. to provide prepurchase counseling to individuals and families with housing needs. These workshops provide detailed information on how to address savings, credit and debt barriers to homeownership, how to shop for a home and a loan, understand title and homeowners insurance, and using the latest industry tools, techniques and resources. Additionally, these workshops present the homebuyer assistance programs currently available, such as the Neighborhood Stabilization Programs, Home Rehabilitation, and down payment and closing cost assistance. Each HUD-approved workshop will provide the attendee a HUD certificate upon the workshop completion that provides proof of eligibility for first-time homebuyer assistance programs that have HUD education requirements.
